Nowadays people uses tricycle as a transportation from going to places as it is accessible. However we cannot deny that there are also cons in using the said vehicle. One of the negative things about riding a tricycle is sometimes the driver does not grant discounts to senior citizens and students and overcharges fare rates. In order to avoid this problem, the City Transportation Management & Development Office (CTMDO) issued the rates and amounts that passengers should pay when riding tricycles in accordance with Marikina City Ordinance No. 011, Series of 2013. Any tricycle who get caught overcharging with the fares they demand from the passenger is punishable by P1,000 fine, but is this really enough to stop those cases?

In this petition, we would like to request the CTMDO to increase the fine for the said case of overcharging to P5,000 and for them to provide an office where people who experiences it can file a complaint so that their problem can be addressed immediately.
