Feather flags bring attention to businesses that people might not know are there.  Sidewalk signs are great for people walking by, but does nothing to get people to see what all is around who are driving by.  Feather flags should be allowed in the city limits to help promote businesses in downtown, and throughout all of Winter Haven.  Surrounding towns have feather flags everywhere, and they attract a lot of customers because of the visibility.  Without feather flags, some businesses may have less business or people may not know they are there, especially if they are new to the area.  More income for the businesses means more money for the city and state government.  Feather flags will help boost the local economy by exposing businesses who people may not realize they have access to in their town, instead of driving to the Orlando or Tampa area for the same products and services.
