New church build in West Kelowna

We are a congregation of about 80 members and have been meeting in West Kelowna for the past 9 years. We have been actively looking to acquire land to build our own church for the last several years. Unfortunately, there is very minimal land in West Kelowna that meets the P2 zoning requirement to build a church. This made it very challenging to purchase a suitable piece of property. 

We believe that the property at 1080 Devon Road is a suitable property as it is centrally located and will have a minimal impact on the surrounding community. Several professionals from various fields have been consulted to assess the property and to provide guidance on how to develop the property with minimal impact to the environment and neighbouring community. To minimize traffic and noise, we are proposing to create a new driveway off Westlake Road to minimize traffic on Devon Road. The latter will only be utilized for emergencies. The proposed building will have an approximate footprint of 6000 square feet. The property will allow for adequate on site parking and there will be no need for street parking.

The neighbouring community will benefit from this development as there will be a new vibrant church with all its community services in close proximity. As part of the development, the forest will be cleaned up and dead trees removed to lower wildfire risk. There are several dead trees on the property that pose a fire hazard.

We are excited to introduce this new proposed church and its services to the community.
