Recently my family received a letter stating we had 15 days to get rid of our beloved family pet chickens or we would receive a fine of $100/day. These chickens are confined in a fence and large chicken coop that sits inside a privacy fence. They are well cared for and very much loved as well as 4-H project of my 11 year old daughter. My daughters are learning responsibility as well as many other life lessons while sharing some responsibilities for these animals. These chickens provide daily eggs for our family and recently we were able to let one mother hen sit on some eggs and the kids watched them hatch and were so proud. Please reconsider this city ordinance . . .

(Wabash City Code, § 3-4)
