Why this petition matters

The "Large Barge" has become a local phenomenon and tourist attraction. It also showcases the dangers of un-checked climate change and serves as a stark reminder of the challenges our society and future generations will have to endure. It should also serve coffee.

Situated in a beautiful stretch of the Seawall the "Large Barge Cafe and Climate Crisis Center"  is ideally located for foot traffic and would be invaluable in providing an easy introduction into the science of climate change.

Many people walking the Seawall may be saying to themselves "But the climate doesn't feel like its changing at all" only to be confronted by the impressive and ample frame of the "Large Barge" looming menacingly over the Seawall, indelibly linked to the fragility of our natural weather system and the strength the ocean run rampant. And they may also like to have a nice cup of coffee and a croissant while thinking about what they can do as an individual to help combat this fast appoaching threat.

Revenue generated by this installation could be used by the City of Vancouver to assist in climate change initiatives or charitable work in Vancouver.
