Vacaville's Imagine That! started this petition to City of Vacaville and

The Nut Tree Family Park property, where the Harbison House now sits, has remained empty and unused for years. What was once a hub for family entertainment now serves as a prison for the Harbison House, inaccessible to the Vacaville Museum who owns it, and the city to which its heritage is tied. It is time to breathe new life into the property.

Vacaville's Imagine That! is the perfect candidate to fill this space. While remaining entertaining and interactive for families, and providing the Vacaville Museum with access to the Harbison House. Offering family entertainment in the space will represent a cultural revival, and Vacaville Museum has agreed to offer pieces of Nut Tree history to be featured on site, as a vital homage to our city's origins. Meanwhile, Imagine That! will also have room to grow, and will offer a fresh outlook on the Nut Tree Plaza.

Historically, the Nut Tree is a famous stop along the highway, growing even after US 40 transformed into I80. The Nut Tree itself has always been the heart of Vacaville, and the wasted space behind the area is a wasted opportunity for this city. Vacaville's Imagine That! has outgrown its current location and is ready and excited to expand and improve upon its service to the community. Our goal as a museum is to provide a place for play and learning rivaling that of our neighbors in Napa, San Francisco, and Sacramento, with general admissions at NO cost to the public.

This opportunity would potentially open up revenue, increase traffic for local businesses in the Nut Tree Plaza, and allow Imagine That! to grow into a science center and destination for families all across Solano County. With your support, Imagine That! can realize its goals and maximize its service to Vacaville and surrounding communities.
