To ensure that all places of residence being serviced by the Sycamore, Illinois, Water Department receive water that is equal in quality, regardless of a resident's address.

1.  Investigate the source of contamination that is causing the water in our homes to be of poor quality, possess a foul smell, and cause discoloration and damage to water systems and property. We ask that the following steps be taken:    

          a.  The creation of a water quality task force to be made up of citizens of Sycamore, City of Sycamore council personnel, and Sycamore Water Department personnel. 

          b.  The adoption of testing procedures that would test all wells equally. We ask Sycamore Water Department to go beyond compliance with its standards. In addition, to improve transparency, we ask that all past water test results and future water test results be available on the City of Sycamore’s web site. 

           c.  The release of any documentation as to how and why the decision was made to place a hydrate flusher at 437 Edward Street.

2.  Take action to address the source of the problem and provide clean drinking water to its residents.

3.  Allow the continuation of the water quality task force, with the mandate of ensuring that all residents being serviced by the Sycamore, Illinois, Water Department receive water that is equal in quality regardless of address.
