I am petitioning for the removal of the speed bump and sign that was tactlessly installed directly in front of my home.  I understand the need for safety, but I am not the one who initiated a petition for this speed bump. It was infringed upon my rights as a homeowner and as a member of this community, as well as others.  I have lived in this neighborhood for 34 years; raised 4 children; newborn, 3, 5, 7 year old, and have never had a problem.  Speed bumps are not the answer, it often involves the awareness of the parents. 

However, I do not oppose of the actual speed bump, but the sign is very annoying...posted directly centered my house; ineffective, in the way, and decreases my property value.  In order for the sign to be removed, as stated by the city of Stuttgart, the bump will have to be removed also.  Listed are a few of many reasons why speed bumps are no longer effective.

REASONS:

----- Speed bumps negatively affect 

       property value.

----- Speed bumps are installed 

       mostly in predominantly 

       black neighborhoods.

----- Speed bumps are being banned

       and removed in many communities.

       The city of Stuttgart no longer install

       speed bumps, so it shouldn't be

       a problem removing them at a 

       homeowners request.

----- Speed bumps causes damages 

       to vehicles.

----- Speed bumps do not 

       eliminate accidents. 

Would you want this directly centered in front of your home, decreasing your property value? Of Course Not!!
