Why this petition matters

Hello, I am currently an employee of the City of Starkville. I am calling on the residents of Starkville to assist with the resignation of Mayor Lynn Spruill. Mayor Spruill is proposing that every employee shall get vaccinated with no exceptions. This is a violation of human rights, the constitution, and the Nuremberg code. Moral is now low in many departments throughout the city. The fire department has stated, "the city would have to fire them because they will not get vaccinated." Once the city is forced to fire, lawsuits because of unconstitutional mandates will follow. Lynn is now on a power trip and is trying to become the second city in Mississippi to enact a mandate. First responders were heros last year through the pandemic and now they are about to be unemployed because of one tyrannical government official. I have been here for over 5 years and not once have I, or anyone else, ever been tested for any diseases nor drugs. So, for her to claim that she cares for public health and safety, is bull. If she cared, first responders would've had hazard pay this past year. It's all about control and power. If this mandate is passed, I fear that the City of Starkville will be in great danger. The police Chief has stated to the Mayor that he believes 1 or 2 of his officers will quit. I'm sure several of them will refuse the vaccine and the city will be forced to fire them. Please help us as employees of this City to call for Mayor Lynn's Resignation.
