Allow residents to continue to park in city garages free of charge using their resident parking permit

Savannah Parking and Mobility Services have changed the rules; effective August 1st, residents will no longer be allowed to park free of charge in the city parking garages. The garage is often a last resort for residents who otherwise can not find legal parking within the small radius that is allowed. By taking away this option, the parking situation will only get worse and discourage residents from living downtown. This decision affects parking availability for residents and tourists alike.
The city should allow residents with residential parking permits to continue to park in the top floor of city garages for no charge.
