There are approximately 40 kids who are going to Northern Collegiate from Rapids Pkwy neighborhood. Most of them are not getting school bus facilities. The city of Sarnia used to have direct buses from Rapids Pkwy to Northern for drop off and pick up. These routes are still shown on the city's website, however, both are discontinued from 2017 or so. Kids and their parents are suffering because of a lack of bus facilities. Traffic has increased a lot in this subdivision due to carpooling as well as individual drop off and pick up of the kids near the school as well as on Modeland-Michigan roads. There used to be many accidents happening and the safety of kids is jeopardized. This letter is a gentle request to the city of Sarnia to start a direct bus route from Rapids Pkwy to Northern Collegiate. This initiative will save a lot of time, energy, and fuel for parents and the community. This will also provide kids a facility to mingle with each other and enjoy the bus rides which they are missing for the last couple of years. Hope to see this change. Thank you.
