Jesse Elmore started this petition to City of Sarasota and

In just the past month, at least 8 animals have been killed on the road in front of my house.

This morning, May 3rd, 2021, the beloved, semi-wild goose pictured was killed. The neighborhood watched him grow from a tiny chick over the last year, and in an instant he was snuffed out.

There is a lake on either side of the house, and the local population of ducks, geese, raccoons, squirrels, possums, and turtles often cross between them.

People frequently speed down this road despite it being a residential area, and in spite of the flashing speed sign set up a few blocks down.

I am devastated by every lost life and cannot stand the idea of doing nothing and allowing the slaughter to continue.

I am seeking funding and support to build a wildlife crossing myself, but if local government could be convinced that would be much better.

Please sign and share so that further deaths may be prevented.
