Parking is expensive downtown. Santa Barbara gives 2 hours free street parking downtown.

I live in Oceano and work in SLO, I avoid downtown SLO as much as possible due to having to pay for parking and most of the time, hardly finding a parking spot close enough to place Im trying to go to. Its truly sad because I truly enjoy the aptomosphere of downtown SLO!

Charging for parking after six is greedy and will hurt restaurants and shops.

Enough is enough. I’m tired of the city dictating to me whether I can use my car or not. I’m a senior citizen, and I’ve lived in this town for over 60 years. I am not going to use a bicycle. Stop punishing me for needing a car.

I have always told people my favorite city was SLO. Recently I moved back to CA after being gone for many years and was excited to live near SLO and re-experience downtown. But sadly I have avoided downtown for the most part, because I don't like the cost of parking. Plus they do it for numerous blocks around it, so you can't even walk in. If this rate increase goes through I will probably never visit downtown. You know there are many more like me! I feel sorry for the downtown businesses, and SLO is losing the charm it used to have.

Downtown has become increasingly more difficult to access, especially for short term errands and those who have difficulty walking. it feels very unwelcoming.

Why does the city feel justified to charge more while offering less? There are less spots avail, it’s far less safe, they’re even less businesses cause they lost so many. Backwards.

Ridiculous idea to raise rates and extend hours to charge until 9pm. This is a bad idea, and whoever thought it up should think about the impact on residents and businesses that make SLO what it is.

Downtown businesses have already suffered enough this past year. This will affect restaurants, especially since people going out to dinner do not want to have to pay for parking that late. Businesses will end up losing customers. Also, employees of bars and restaurants working the dinner shifts will have to park on free streets further away and risk their safety having to walk to their car at night.
