School buses provide a public service and often the ability to provide this service is hindered due to ancient bylaws and regulations in regards to parking in the local community.  There is a shortage of bus drivers in the city.  The lack of support regarding parking school buses on home driveways and streets, is a substantial barrier to the hiring and retention of these drivers.  Provided there is adequate space, and  doesn't interfere with the reasonable enjoyment of our neighbours, school buses need to be allowed to park in our residential areas.  Many bus drivers are stay-at-home parents or retired members of our community-GIVE THEM PERMITS (from September to June) to support the seamless provision of this service to our community's children and schools!
