The North Carolina DOT currently has plans to convert Leadmine Road to a 4 lane divided highway.  As a state project, NCDOT is not required to conduct a traffic study, hold community forums, or incorporate feedback gathered into the plan.  By advocating for City Council to re-evaluate the Comprehensive Plan, the city would be able to conduct traffic studies and gather citizen input to ensure the road design meets the needs of the residential communities using it.  

This petition is not regarding being For or Against the traffic plan. It is about addressing the road being designated as a NCDOT Project and encouraging a  collaborative relationship between the Leadmine Road project and citizens.
