Many in the Rahway community have expressed an interest in establishing a permanent off-leash dog park in the City of Rahway.

Over the summer, biweekly informal doggy meetups held on Friday evenings near Hamilton Stage have brought 6-22 dogs and their owners together. A pop-up dog park is also a feature of Rahway Culture Crawl 2017. A permanent dog park would contribute to Rahway's community by providing a dedicated space for canine exercise and human socializing.

It is understood that are many issues involved in constructing a dog park, including safety, liability, waste, water, drainage, shelter, and maintenance, as well as accompanying costs.

We support exploring the feasibility of constructing and maintaining a permanent dog park within the City.
