City of Plantation Memorial Sign Policy

City of Plantation Memorial Sign Policy
Why this petition matters

On March 19, 2018, Gregory Wohlford’s young life was ended in a tragic car accident along Fig Tree Lane, near Heritage park. A year later, a Drive Safely marker was put in place, reminding not only for drivers to slow down along the curve, but also life can change in the blink of an eye.
While the marker is on the “shoulder” and deemed only allowed to be in place for one year, the city was gracious to allow it to remain in place for a second year. Currently, they have extended the removal date, allowing us to advocate for change.
The marker itself is adjacent to a palm tree, not causing any blockage for cars needing to pull onto the shoulder should it be necessary.
We are asking for the support of Plantation residents to allow this sign to remain in place while the family continues to heal.
