Jason Neat started this petition to Mayor City of Olathe and

Regardless of the concerns raised by homeowners, the city commission voted 9 to 0 to approve the rezoning from residential to commercial at the Northwest corner of 151st and Quivira to allow for the construction of an 87,000 square foot medical center.  Their response, "Olathe homeowners need to trust that Olathe Medical Center will do things right because the city has a long term relationship with the Olathe Health System." The lack of concern for our community is unacceptable.

The plan is to build a 67,000 square foot facility and an additional 20,000 in Phase 2. There are currently no plans to widen Quivira Road, no consideration to the additional traffic, flooding in the adjoining neighborhood, light pollution, or commercialization of the area. Quivira is already dangerous with no sidewalks, bike paths or shoulders. Morse students cannot walk or bike safely currently and with proposed turn-in lanes on both Quivira & 151st, students would have to cross constant oncoming traffic from both directions.

We the members of the Harmony View West Home Owner Association & surrounding neighborhoods, schools and churches are asking for your support so we can collectively notify the City of Olathe that the rezoning from residential to commercial and the construction of the Medical center at this location is not acceptable. Our concerns are additional traffic, lack of safety planning, water flood control issues and protection of the home values in the surrounding neighborhoods.

Please help by signing this petition to stop the rezoning from residential to commercial and the construction of this facility.
