Amend Nanaimo's Bylaw to Allow Domestic Rabbits as Pets
0 have signed. Let’s get to 500!
Current Nanaimo City Bylaw 1995 No. 4923 prohibits the keeping or harbouring of domestic rabbits on parcels of land less than 1 acre in size. If you are a rabbit owner in Nanaimo and live on less than 1 acre, you are violating this bylaw and can be fined and/or have your rabbit impounded at any time.
We need to amend this unfair bylaw to allow rabbit owners to keep their pets. Rabbits are clean, quiet creatures and arguably Canada's third most popular domestic animal. Your signature on this petition shows that you believe the majority of rabbit owners are responsible, reasonable citizens who are simply trying to live their lives and not causing any problems to the community.
Please sign today and help us convince City Council to make this change!
