Recall The Mayor and City Councilors in The City of Mobile Alabama
The mayor of Mobile Sandy Stimpson and all of the city council minus John Williams recently voted into place an ordinance that requires everyone to wear a mask in public “to fight the spread of Covid-19” despite conflicting information as to whether or not healthy people wearing mask is effective at all. They went against the will of many constituents and it’s time for them to go. If they are not willing to represent the people who voted them into office we can and will replace them.
Per Alabama law any citizen that forms a petition for recall with at least 30% of the voters that participated in the previous election the city clerk is required to initiate a special election to allow for the removal of the officials in question. In the last mayoral election there were 50,418 ballots cast. That means a petition with 15,126 signatures forces an election.
