Increase number of Police Officers on Miramar's streets
0 have signed. Let’s get to 100!
While there are a vocal minority who want to spend nearly 2 million dollars outfitting Miramar Cops with body cams, they are ignoring the real problems the residents are concerned with . With a police department whose use of force rates and complaints rates are in the lower end of the county and with Officers who haven't shot at a person in years. Meanwhile our staffing numbers in comparison to similar local agencies are very low with only 12 officers at times to patrol the entire city. The things residents are really complaining of include lack of Police presence, increased hold times for non emergent calls....Some as long as several hours, and the Department's inability to deal with quality of life concerns due to low staffing levels.
Help us tell the city Commission where 2 million dollars is better spent. Let's increase the staffing levels of the Miramar Police Department.
