Pass Funding for Tri-Rail Coastal Link

Undoubtedly, Miami is currently undergoing a transformative period. Under Mayor Tomas Regalado, Miami has welcomed a series of mega-developments that will continue to increase the density of our urban center, providing new sources of tax revenue for the city. However, Mayor Regalado does not seem eager to provide Miami the infrastructure that it needs to support that density. The Tri-Rail Coastal Link, a proposed commuter rail that would begin in Miami and go north 85 miles and traversing the Tri-County area would help alleviate congestion within the city by providing residents with a viable transportation option. The Tri-Rail Coastal Link is a keystone in the establishment of Miami as a city that truly offers multi-modal transportation. Paired with already existing infrastructure such as the adjacent MetroRail and MetroMover, the Coastal Link would provide unprecedented mobility for residents, commuters, and visitors alike. We ask Mayor Regalado to not veto, but rather sign the resolution that will be proposed by Commissioner Sarnoff on Thursday, March 26th to commit roughly $11 million from the General Allocation Funds to the development of the Tri-Rail Coastal Link at the Miami Grand Central Station.
