Christopher Draper started this petition to City of Mesa Council and

The purpose for this petition is to express our concerns and our desire for the City of Mesa Planning and Zoning and Council Members NOT to approve zoning case ZON18-00929 in regards to site plan modifications of the land on the SWC of Signal Butte and Guadalupe in Mesa, AZ. The developer is seeking to add an additional pad to the land with the intent of negotiating to put a Lube Shop and a separate Tire Shop that also provides lube services and automotive repair. This community has come together once before to express that we don't want this type of business at this location. In the past we asked that a Car Wash not be placed here and these types of business fall in that same category. In the last zoning case ZON17-00384 we as a community worked with the developer in what we all felt would be a good fit for everyone on this land. We believe that these types of business will bring excess noise of air guns/tools, cars honking as the move them in and out, unpleasant smells of oil and rubber. These types of businesses have also been known to have soiled parking/drive areas from cars leaking fluids that are in need of repair. This could also be a noise distraction to the adjacent school causing distractions. This is NOT what we want for OUR close neighborhood community. We would like to see the developer to hold to what they already worked with the community on to develop on this land; a place for restaurants and small retail shops like the purposed pad A. We ask that all petitioners please email the city council at council@mesaaz.gov, planning and zoning at john.wesley@mesaaz.gov, developer at info@gdc-az.com with your comments and concerns. Thank you to all the supporters of this petition and to the City of Mesa in your time and consideration. For more information about these zoning cases visit https://aca.accela.com/mesa/Default.aspx and search the above-mentioned case numbers.
