Attention City of Marina Residents: Save the Water City Rink!

For 26 years the Water City Rink has been in operation providing a recreational area to the City of Marina and surrounding cities of Monterey County. Located on 2nd avenue in the hub of Fort Ord buildings and new establishments, Water City is in danger of foreclosing and we need our community to rally together to save it!

The City of Marina and local city officials are claiming more than half of Marina residents do not want the rink to succeed and that is completely false!

This rink is used for many purposes such as public skating, hockey, roller derby, soccer, lacrosse, parties and events. Not only does it attract athletes, it attracts newcomers of all backgrounds. This rink is the last standing rink in the Central Coast with the nearest one being 45 minutes away.

Closing the rink means many things; it means one less establishment for the community to enjoy recreationally. It means one less safe place for all without judgement. It means eliminating indoor inline hockey and derby in the Central Coast. And it means taking away any opportunity for our community to grow.

As a community, we need to rally together and show how important local treasures like the Water City Rink means to us. While we welcome and thank supporters of surrounding cities and states to sign the petition, we urge Marina residents to sign and share with your neighbors. We are proving the City of Marina, city officials and Mayor Delgado that they are wrong...more than half of the Marina residents WANT the rink!

Help us save our local rink by signing this petition!
