In a time when the country feels the true value of social interaction with neighbors, we are all reminded about the power the Marble Falls Soapbox Classic event had at bringing the community together. The Derby also raised money to benefit our most vulnerable community members, children in the foster care system.

If you are interested in asking the city to honor this decades long tradition of bringing our community together for pure homegrown fun for the entire family, then please help us demand that the city support the return of the Marble Falls Soapbox Classic event. Please sign this online petition and forward it to other fans of the event.

We are an all-volunteer team that has produced this event successfully for a decade with 90%+ support from downtown businesses.  This year the city insisted on limiting the event's space and time to a degree that prevented us from producing a quality family-friendly event. Even after our many concessions in negotiations, the city still denied our event permit  To read more about this decision visit www.adultsoapboxderby.com

Perhaps in these Covid-19 days, the City will realize they undervalued the power from bringing us together year after year.  Downtown districts are built for their communities to come together. The city of Marble Falls Economic Development Corporation answers the question of "Why Downtown?" in a 2019 article. Take a close look... “The downtown is the only part of the city that belongs to everybody.  It doesn’t matter where you may find your home; the downtown is yours, too.  Investing in the downtown of a city is the only place-based way to benefit all of its citizens at once.” Jeff Speck, Walkable City

Bring back the Marble Falls Soapbox Classic in 2021… because Community Matters!
