Honoring Gerald Emeka; Change Essex St to Emeka St.

Gerald Emeka was murdered by two young men in front of his own home on Saturday August 28, 2021. He leaves behind his loving family and friends . Let us Honor Gerald Emeka by changing his home address, “Essex street in Lynn, MA” to Emeka Street. Gerald was a hero and an inspiration to many people and we want to carry his name.
Gerald always carried positive energy, he gave people the drive they needed, and brought happiness to the lives of many. He was a young man with dreams of being a basketball player and a man with a dream to change his family’s life.
Gerald was born and raised in Nigeria. His mother brought Gerald to America a few years ago, so that he could live a better life, gain a better education, and follow his dreams. He graduated from Lynn English High School in 2019 and then attended his first year of college. This year would’ve been his second year at Mass Bay Community College.
In order for us to change the street name, we need this petition to gather as many signatures, spread the word, and bring this to the city council. This is just one way we can honor and remember Gerald Emeka and we would love for this to happen.
By gathering as many signatures, this will bring us one step closer to gaining the opportunity to continue his dream to change his family’s life and to carry his legacy.
