City of Kelowna Action to Address Upper Mission Traffic Troubles
This petition had 258 supporters
The traffic situation coming out of the Kelowna Upper Mission neighbourhood and into the Lower Mission has been deteriorating every year. It now takes over 20 minutes on a good day for residents to drive the first two kilometers from their home in the morning on school days (either Lakeshore Road or Gordon Drive). A recent multi-million dollar project by the City of Kelowna to improve infrastructure around Anne McClymont School has done absolutely nothing to address the problem. The proposed South Perimeter road has been mentioned as a possible solution for years, yet the City has provided no update for this project on its website in quite some time. Even then, this third road will not benefit the majority of Upper Mission residents who are travelling to Kelowna’s city core or west in the mornings.
The City needs to stop accepting money from developers and making this problem worse by permitting more houses in the Upper Mission until it can provide safe and efficient roadways to the residents.

As a resident of the Upper Mission (or other person affected by this issue), I want to know, what is the City doing to actually solve the Upper Mission traffic problems and what is the timeline for doing so?
