Bring Parks to NW Inver Grove Heights

We're "parkless".....let's change that and make sure our kids grow up with neighborhood parks they can walk to! Sign this petition to urge City Council and the Parks & Rec department to take action NOW!

Here's what we know:

  • The City of Inver Grove Heights has up to $20M to spend to develop 5-6 parks in northwest Inver Grove Heights.
  • In 2014, the city identified a plan for potential park points. The plan hasn't been updated since 2014 despite the significant growth in our neighborhoods.
  • A group from Argenta Hills went to the City Council meeting on May 30. Mayor Tourville and other council members stated they are trying to buy land for a park, but have been unsuccessful at purchasing land. The project is at a standstill.
  • The City of IGH has a rule of thumb that all residents should ideally be able to walk to a park within a half mile of their home. Distances to the nearest park for most in NW IGH are double that in most instances.

How many kids are in your family that would use a neighborhood park? Let's get a tally to the City of IGH. Enter your response on this quick, one-question survey
