Uncontained waste, litter, and illegal dumping cause the people of OST- South Union emotional, physical, and environmental distress. Dumping will cause unwanted bacteria, stray animals, environmental hazards and depreciates the overall value of the land and property value in the community.

We are calling for an increase in the standard of care for cleanliness in our community.  We seek to increase comprehensive residential trash collection to every 2 weeks, heavy waste/trash collections every other week, more receptacles in public areas, increased fines for illegal dumping and improved enforcement.  

Illegal dumping activity causes a decrease in the community’s image and therefore property values, the community then becomes “unattractive” to outsiders looking in to secure real estate and build and sustain
