HELP!!! Save our Foster Animals
0 have signed. Let’s get to 1,000!
We have been doing foster care for over 8+ years in Grand Coulee, Washington and now all of a sudden the City Council has taken it upon themselves to finally get involved and their idea is to just shut us down and their only resolution is to kill the animals the city takes in. During the last City Council meeting we asked if we could please schedule a time where we could all sit together and work something out so we could continue to foster animals to support the community. But instead of working with us our city government officials have determined that they are in the right and we must get "rid" of all of our dogs except two. Again their only solution is to kill.
We have studied there ordinances, their rules and regulations, all of which allow us to keep what we have. The zoning ordinance even allows for a "hobby kennel". They refuse to lessen. We have spoken to both the first police chief and now the current and received a verbal exception that is also in their Dog control ordinance. Instead of receiving help and assistance for something that we are funding exclusively on our own, we are getting bullied and shamed in the community. We have rescued over 360+ dogs/feral cats from this area and taken them to places and people willing to give them a chance; but when this is brought up they say we should have let the city handle it. We don't want to stop helping the people and animals of Grand Coulee and are asking you to boycott the area and sign our petition. We are currently within the city limits and trying to move; but in this very rural area the opportunities are very limited for us and the animals. Please sign this petition as we have until noon on August 8, 2017 to get as many signatures that we can.
Thank you so much for helping us out.
