Dismantle the gate off Peachey Road in Ormeau at the entrance to the public road known as Darlington Ridge Road.

- Vennor Drive is a very steep and narrow residential street currently being used as a thoroughfare by large numbers of 4WD vehicles illegally accessing Darlington Ridge Road over private property at the end of our street. The community is needlessly suffering safety and security issues because Darlington Ridge Road can be legally accessed via Peachey Road, but for the Council gate blocking access.
- Ormeau residents accessing the park with the fenced dog release area have no designated level safe parking places and the entanglement at peak periods with Vennor Drive residents' cars braking hard downhill to miss those parking on the steep narrow street causes major safety problems. The natural slope of the park is towards Darlington Ridge Road, which gives dog owners closer access to the release area and would provide a much safer parking solution, freeing space outside Vennor Drive residents' houses for visitor parking.
The dog park was established to solve a community problem and we are grateful, but no consideration was given to providing appropriate parking for users. Access to the park via Darlington Ridge Road, which is a public road, is a simple but effective solution that would allow safer access and parking for all concerned. We ask that Council seriously investigate our solution to alleviate the current issues.
