Install traffic signals at intersection of Timberland Way and Cherry Blossom Way

This dangerous intersection needs a stoplight to help prevent future accidents. Our daughter-in-law and 2 grand children were fortunate to survive a T-bone crash that totaled their vehicle - all air bags deployed and a very scary situation. Fortunately no one was seriously injured in this 2 vehicle crash. There have been 2 fatalities at this intersection along with 59 accidents. The daily vehicle count on this section of road is 24,198. Line of sight entrance from Timberland Way is an issue along with speeding and failure to stop at stop signs. I believe a traffic signal will alleviate these problems.
Traffic from the Cherry Blossom subdivision,Crossroads Church and other housing developments along Oxford Road creates a large amount of traffic using this dangerous intersection.
The Kentucky Department of Transportation (KYDOT) will be completing a study (late Fall, Early Spring 2018) of the area to determine whether or not conditions warrant this installation. KYDOT has noted that sometimes traffic lights create additional problems with wrecks.
The City of Georgetown, KY Traffic Committee has discussed this item at the last 2 meetings and I will continue to attend these meetings held on the 3rd Monday of the month in the City Hall at 4:30 pm.
