Our road has become a HIGHWAY. This is why we are requesting a new road being built to veer traffic away from our residential homes.

Our local street was designed for low volume residential traffic and to minimize through traffic and to provide livability and safety associated with our residential environment.  Gamel Cemetery Road traffic volume has increased beyond what is considered normal. Our growing population has increased the traffic on our road that has become a private nuisance and very stressful for all local residents. The street has become a major thoroughfare connecting A Highway and Highway 61/67. Residents are subjected to dangerous speeding, high traffic noise, and environmental pollution and more. Many of our homes along the main section of Gamel Cemetery Road are very close to the road and fear for the safety of our citizens, especially our children. Our residents also experience danger exiting and entering our own driveways.The noise level is 24 hours a day and has become unbearable. As this heavy traffic continues, our property values will decrease.

The residents of Gamel Cemetery Road would like to seek resolution in a traffic control, safety, environmental pollution, and livability on our road and we are requesting a new road to veer highway traffic away and off of our residential road.The citizens of Gamel Cemetery Road deserve the same rights to safety and peace as the rest of the City of Festus.
