Save Bus Route 103

I live in an area full of children, teenagers, adults and seniors. I live in an area where there is only one way in, and one way out. I like to call this area my little island. It’s away from everyone, but near everyone all at the same time. I live in the area of Cameron Heights in Edmonton, Alberta.

As a community, we found out that our bus route is being taken out for low ridership. As of right now, the bus only runs from 6am-6pm Monday through Friday. Excluding holidays. Before that, the bus ran till 10pm, all week. Holidays had different hours. In the latest city proposal, we found out that we will have no bus. That we will have an on demand bus. I have no idea how that will work especially for students.

We have a ravine near us and if we walk through it, it will take close to 30 minutes to get through it to get to an area that may or may not have a bus service. In that ravine, there could be coyotes or bears. Do we really want to take that risk, especially in -40 weather?

I would personally love to see the bus run on the weekends, even if it has to be every hour. I would love to see the bus run till 10pm, for those who work retail. Even if the city has to send the smaller buses to us, it is better than nothing.

I am asking everyone, take a moment of your time and sign this petition and help us, members of Cameron Heights, keep our bus route. We need this for our area. Thank you.
