Speed Limit Change on Curriehill Station Road - 60MPH is not safe!!

As residents of Warriston Farm Road in Currie, Edinburgh we witness our fair share of road accidents and many near misses outside our house. On the corner of the main road and Warriston Farm Road there is a blind corner and hidden dip when pulling out on to the main road or onto Warriston Farm Road. The junction is used heavily by residents from Currie, Balerno and the Long Dalmahoy Road area.
Most of you will know the junction and the danger associated with it.
As well as the junction itself being dangerous the road from that area up to the train station has a pavement which and is used by dog walkers joggers and staff/students daily walking to and from Heriot Watt University.
The general thoughts from the local people and other road users are that the whole road should have the limit changed from 60 to 30 MPH. It’s only a small stretch of read unlikely to add any considerable time onto travel time. A lot of users currently treat the road as a lower limit due to the obvious danger but a large number of cars come up and the down the road at huge speeds.....another accident waiting to happen.
After yet another accident on the morning of 29/3/17 which resulted with ambulances and police having to attend and the road being blocked, we have decided to make an attempt to change the speed limit before someone is seriously hurt on worse on our doorsteps!
Please help us build our case and make this road safer!
All I ask is that you sign this petition so I can take a good case forward to the council.
