LANDMARK CASA LINDA PLAZA IN DALLAS
0 have signed. Let’s get to 1,000!
This petition is to request that the City of Dallas generate a Landmark designation for the Casa Linda Plaza Shopping Center in Dallas, Texas. Built in the Spanish Revival Style in 1945, it is the oldest shopping center in the City of Dallas. Carl Martin Brown's great vision, a unique idea of a "one stop shopping" center, was brought to fruition by his son, Howard Brown, with great labor and considerate thought for the Dallas citizens.
Today, it is considered endangered by those who have signed this petition. The original service station was eradicated in the distant past and the current property owners are removing the trees originally planted along "miniature tree boulevards" in the Plaza.
To landmark Casa Linda Plaza will secure the preservation of the originality of this site and the property will remain without any further alterations, eradication, and or additions that would compromise the integrity of this valuable historical resource.
