Reconfiguration of Bike Path on Clifton Avenue

Reconfiguration of Bike Path on Clifton Avenue
In March of 2021, the City of Cincinnati placed a temporary, two mile, bike lane along Clifton Avenue. The initial purpose of this lane was to provide a safe travel route for bikes and pedestrians in the Clifton area. In recent local news proceedings, there has been a lot of coverage regarding the removal of the bike path that has largely focused on why the bike path should become a permanent part of the community. However, many small business owners and residents in the Clifton area feel that the bike path should be removed or placed in a better location.
Clifton Avenue, one of the busiest street's in the Clifton area, has been eliminated to one lane as a result of the bike path. Members, commuters, and business owners of the community have experiences and witnessed many difficulties as a byproduct of the bike path, including traffic congestion, dangerous traffic flow, negation of parking, and not to mention it is an eye sore.
One of the many problems, hundreds of commuters have experienced, as they return to in-person work and school, is traffic congestion. On any given weekday, especially during rush hour, the traffic on Clifton Avenue is backed up for miles. Furthermore, local businesses have been experiencing difficulty's with the lack of customer and employee parking, as Clifton Avenue was previously being used as a parking lane for employees, customers, and business owners in the area.
This is not a petition to disarm the idea or creation of a bike path for Clifton. This is a petition to encourage those involved in the construction of the bike path to be considerate of the way local residents, who actually live, work, and commute in the area are being effected.
