Steve is a familiar face at the Chelmsford Dog Park.  You can show up at any time of the day and it’s a sure bet you will see Steve there with Butters, Pluto, or other dogs that he is watching for people like me who occasionally need to have their dog watched and get some energy out while we are at work.  You can often find him playing with the dogs, helping break up dog fights, cleaning up messes that other dogs leave in which the owner either didn’t see or just refused to pick up.  He even goes around to remove the poop bags from bins when they need to be taken out.  Steve does so much to help out our park and community.

Recently, there was a very mild incident where a few of Steve’s bowls were confiscated and placed in a shed on the park grounds which is locked by a code.  Someone had given him the code and he retrieved  the property that rightfully belonged to him.  While this might have not been the best way to go about it, nothing was taken that should not have been taken.  Members of DPAC and the CDA went out of their way to have Steve banned for 6 months over a water bowl!

We, the people who sign this petition would ask the City of Chelmsford to undo the banning of Steve Kearns from the Chelmsford Dog Park, understand that the people placed in charge were not as careful as they should have been with sensitive information, and let this mild incident go as water under the bridge.
