Why this petition matters

Started by Melissa Fitts

After living here 30+ years, the City has moved in and trying to force people to get rid of their ducks.  It's unbelievably hard being forced to give up our feathered family (they're like fur babies) and would like to keep the backyard poultry, specifically ducks in the city of centennial. Ducks provide a food source an alternative if allergic to chicken eggs. Ducks are hardier from illnesses and don't cannibalize in eating their own eggs. Ducks don't crow at the crack of dawn and don't require standing water. They are also good education to teach children where food comes from and the responsibility of owning pets. If chickens are allowed, we should have a right on selecting the poultry of our choice. Just another fight to secure our rights. Please sign the petition.
