The last couple of weeks, the electricity kiosk and street lights have been targeted and vandalized in Belhar,( ext 18, 23,14 13, 10, 11, 14, 8, 7 etc. Leaving the community without electricity for up to 6 days, this is not acceptable, community members along with the active role players have been trying to get law enforcement, SAPS, to go and raid the illegal scrapyards that runs from home, this scrapyards buy the copper from the culprits who is responsible for burning the kiosk, this puts unnecessary strain on CCT, Eskom and the community... We plea that MEC JP Smith and SAPD heads assist and stop this illegal scrapyards from operating, as it will decline and stop the culprits from causing damages financially for the CCT and Eskom, and put the community unnecessary strain, we hope that this matter can be solved as soon as possible, for now some community members have been patrolling their areas and they are fed up and will start to take the law into their own handscause the ain't really or little support from law enforcement agencies...
