Fencing for the Lakeview dog park
This petition had 81 supporters
Our Lakeview community uses the AltaLink utility corridor as a dog park. Wouldn’t it be nice if there was see-through fencing along the 66 avenue side of the dog park that would keep dogs, drivers, and kids safe?
A portion is City of Calgary road allowance property too. And for any chance of fencing being installed, the City has to be the initiator. I’ve met with an AltaLink rep and he confirms that AltaLink is on board and would provide the technical assessment. But the City is our first stop. We need to show them the community is interested and then they would pay for the fencing and maintain things (as they do already with the garbage bins). AltaLink and the City entered into a similar agreement for a dog park in the community of Evanston. So we know it’s possible.
I’m seeking your support on this petition so that I can show the City that enough Lakeview residents would like some fencing installed.
The fencing would be parallel to 66 ave, chain-link see-through type, it was have openings running along it and it would not be closed off at 37st or Crowchild.
