BOULDER CITY RESIDENTS! Please help save the Boulder City Speedway!
There will be a vote next council meeting to allow or deny racing to continue out at the track, located at 1101 Quail Rd (behind Veterans Cemetery).
There is misinformation and lack of knowledge regarding safety. The truth is, it is safer than high school football. We have national sanctioning body support and 70 years of statistics showing safety standards. The reality is there is not much difference between this and the many other outdoor adventures Boulder City currently offers; sky diving, zip lining, BMX, mountain biking, to name a few. And like those, we also have rigorous safety and insurance requirements.
I believe we only have 3 of the 4 votes we need to keep racing in our city. Please contact the Mayor and councilmen and women to ask them not to take this away from our kids. We need community support on this! These racing families come from all over the country to race here. They buy our gas, eat in our restaurants and stay in our hotels. And most of all, spread the word about our great city.
We have been racing there for 2 years without any serious injuries or issues, and the current council wants to end it .
Yeah, it's not a historical site or an art project, but some of us need this. A lot of BC families have thousands of dollars invested in this track and our kids. Some members on the current council want to take that away.
Please call, email and talk to the city officials and let them know that its okay to keep it! Ask your friends to do the same!
