Install streetlights on the 66 - 84 block of Romsey Street in Dorchester.

Sometime during the fall of 2012, the City performed some construction on Romsey Street (e.g., changing the ramps in the sidewalks, removing a tree or two, and repaving the street). During this time period, at least one streetlight was also removed.
For the last ten months, the block of Romsey Street between Sydney Street and Sagamore Street (Nos. 66 - 84) is noticeably darker at night. The Savin Hill neighborhood has seen an uptick of car break-ins and muggings over the past few months, and the lack of streetlights on this block significantly compromises the safety and comfort of the residents, many of whom commute on foot from the two nearby T stations. The safety of the residents of Boston should be a top priority to the City government. Clear, well-lit streets play a crucial part in addressing that goal.
