Parent Advocate started this petition to City of Boston (Boston.gov)

We are sadly approaching the 1 year anniversary of our children not seeing the inside of a Boston Public school classroom. There are now multiple scientific studies from around the globe that show children can safely return to the classroom, 5 days/week, in person, with standard safety precautions, including mask wearing and proper distancing. This has been shown to be possible to enact without a significant increase in the rate of COVID-19 transmission amongst children or teachers. Being in school and inside the classroom with other children is not only important for education but also for a child’s social and emotional development.  To open restaurants, bars, gyms and other non-essential businesses before returning our children to public schools is unconscionable. We should not be putting profit before our children‘s education. The City of Boston and the Superintendent are failing our children. It’s time to put our public school children first. Please sign this petition to get our elected officials to do right by our children.
