City of Belleville, Ontario: Strike down a motion to restrict the parking of trailers, boats and RVs in private driveways.

Council's attempt to restrict residents use of their private property represents an incremental loss of what should be considered property owners ‘rights’. If the activity is not illegal or does not present a danger to the public, Council has no mandate to offer up this overly restrictive and useless bylaw. Councillors have the duty to ensure citizens are not overly governed and taxed, unfortunately, if this motion passes, they will have accomplished the opposite with this bylaw.
