The homeless should not be camping on sidewalks and in front of businesses. The city of Austin should use tax money to create a space for the homeless to camp out if they wish but it should not be on the sidewalks. Many urinate and have their body fluids right in the streets along with drugs and trash strewn about. I have seen this crisis in Seattle and don’t want this crisis coming to my state. Tiny home living or just a place for them to camp... something besides the public sidewalks.

It’s downright disgusting and wrong!! Leaders of Austin are killing its early beauty

I’m signing because this is an inefficient solution to camping problem in Austin. It is out of the question from a health and safety standpoint.

I don’t like the fact that I pay thousands per year in property taxes to have nice public place to go to and enjoy, but now I can’t due to homeless camps taking these areas over. They don’t pay any taxes and many of them aren’t even from this community, but we’re attracted or sent here due to overturn of the ban, so they have never paid taxes to Austin. Now our city has become responsible for all these additional homeless when they wouldn’t be here if the ban had stayed in place.

Weather wise it’s not safe for them to camp outdoors.

The smallest minority on earth is the individual. Those who deny individual rights cannot claim to be defenders of minorities. Put yourself on the other side of that fence! Boo hoo, your butt hurt now!? This is your answer to poverty. Out of sight, out of mind.

Its a never ending sad situation having so many people....yes people...just like you and I these are people with feelings. But I can see the problem here. The disrespect to the land and the tax payers who pay their dues to keep these areas clean and safe. Not all homeless people are dangerous and not all people who have a roof are dangerous. The difference between them is I wouldn't feel comfortable walking through the park in the evening with my loved ones if this were going on whereas I would feel comfortable walking through a neighborhood of homes with this not going on. If there was law and order here it wouldn't be such a big deal. I litter in my community and I get a fine. Whoever is doing this is obviously not being held accountable. Not ok. This is favoritism at its finest when you break it down.
