As Covid-19 spreads across our nation, many of us are concerned that large gatherings put us all at risk of further community spread. 

Other cities are canceling expos, concerts, tech conferences, and other events all across our nation, and we believe that the Austin Rodeo should do the same. 

Mitigation and social distancing CAN help slow down the virus so our local Health System is not overwhelmed.  

Having the rodeo during a Pandemic is irresponsible, and also not consistent with Austin's leadership recent bold decision to cancel SXSW. Why cancel one but not the other?  

We hope that they will reconsider continuing, and put health, safety, and lives first.
