Dominique Stewart started this petition to City of Augusta and

Robert Jones founded Selfie Lifestyle in February 2021, and went into a lease agreement with the Augusta Mall in August 2021. Selfie Lifestyle officially opened their doors to the public on October 30, 2021. On Tuesday, November 2, 2021 mall management visited the site and noticed that one of the sections of the store was designated for individuals 21 and up. Mall management informed Mr. Jones that it is Mall Policy that all areas of the mall be "child friendly", and that the area needed to be removed by COB end of the week. The "child friendly" statement is concerning because stores such as Spencer's and Victoria Secret are not "child friendly" in accordance with the policy referred to by mall management. On Thursday, November 4, 2021, Mr. Jones reported to the business office to pay rent. Later that same day, mall security was sent to the Selfie Lifestyle store to present a letter terminating the lease effective November 19, 2021. when asked why this was happening the reply: "We have the right to terminate the lease at anytime without cause".  Mr. Jones complied with the request to remove the room, even though mall management lied about it being a policy. Selfie Lifestyle has complied with all requests from mall management, and to knowledge has not violated in rules or policy. While the mall has the right to terminate the lease at any time, the description of the actions above show this decision to be premeditated, and Selfie Lifestyle is only requesting to be able to continue operating to recoup the start up costs associated with starting the business, and provide something fun and new to the community. Terminating a lease without cause is wrong, and economically irresponsible and detrimental to Mr. Jones' ability to provide for his family. Selfie Lifestyle has not been opened 2 weeks, and already has to shut their doors before having the chance to be successful. Please Join us in a call to action to right this wrong!
