Jun 4, 2013 — You are all fantastic! Ashland loves bees, there is no doubt about that! Ashland City Council staff has been so impressed with your responses. We have flooded their inbox with over 300 signatures and almost that many comments!
Although this list will be printed and mailed right now (for review for the June 11th Planning Commission meeting and vote), I will leave the petition open, to keep garnering support.
We are scheduled to take the ordinance to the Planning Commission for their public hearing on June 11th (7pm City Council Chambers -1175 E Main St.) at which the Commission will make their formal recommendation to Council. The draft ordinance is expected to go to Council for First Reading on Aug 8th, and then for Second Reading (final adoption) on Aug 20th. If the Council suggests major revisions on Aug 6th, then the Second Reading date would likely be postponed to allow their changes to be incorporated.
Here's to a swift adoption of this good policy!!
