It has been more than 60 years since the North Heights area in Amarillo, TX has been rezoned. We are constantly looked over for housing and business development and this is due largely in part to our disjointed zoning that currently exist.  The North Heights Advisory Association has worked tirelessly with the City of Amarillo to provide recommendations that would begin the journey back to the rich legacy of North Heights. The time is now to take a step for our future generations. Rezoning is just the tip of iceberg as we begin to revitalize a community that was once packed full of Black owned businesses and black land ownership.  For more information click here: www.amarillo.gov/NHREZONING . This site was developed to help people understand what rezoning means for each of them specifically. The rezoning proposal has been broken down into 2 parts and Part 1 has its first reading in front of City Council on August 10, 2021. Part 1 deals with all the land North of Amarillo Blvd. We have to show them that we the citizens of North Heights support this initiative and are in favor of developing our community to make it equally as appealing as parts of Amarillo,  Texas.
